5 STARS!  PAUL TREZISE AND FAMILY
We have just spent the weekend at the beautiful Crotchet Barn and wish we could have spent longer there. We were delighted to find out that we were the very first guests and boy, we were not disappointed! The pictures really do not do it justice, as the Barn is finished to a high standard with all your home comforts at your disposal. Joanna, the host was such a warm, friendly lady and had fabulous suggestions of where to eat and visit. Bearing in mind, that we visited a week after the opening of lock down, we managed with Joanna’s help, to eat in the lovely Mango Tree, Taunton and Mooli Foodworks, Wellington both of which I would highly recommend. We also took a walk along the Bridgewater to Taunton Canal which was beautiful and walked the public footpath just below the barn and saw the sunset! The Barn is in a lovely location which is within 30 mins drive of Taunton, Wellington, Bridgewater and Glastonbury another must! Oh, and of course a spot of retail therapy in Clarks Village if you so wish! The weather was very kind to us, enabling us to just chill out and relax in the tranquil gardens. All in all, I highly recommend you check Crotchet Barn out! Thank you again Joanna!

5 STARS! JAYA JAKS
I LOVED staying here! The barn was spacious and bright and set in a lovely quiet area. The bed was huge and super comfy, the kitchen had everything I needed, the garden was secluded and full of butterflies and birds. Jo was there whenever I needed her. Great place. Highly recommend.

5 STARS! STEVE, KERRIE AND AMELIA CHILDS
As Vegans ourselves, finding a place to stay that is also Vegan is refreshing! From the welcome food gift to the products used in the house, they’re all Vegan. The barn is a decent size and the 3 of us never felt that we were on top of each other. The summerhouse is a great spot to sit and read a book. The welcome pack gave us a few ideas for walks, which we tried a couple of. Location wise its within easy reach of Glastonbury which we enjoyed, although we managed to pick a day where all the Vegan restaurants were shut! The bakers do a great range of Vegan goodies though! It was great and we can’t wait to go back.

5 STARS! JENNIFER CLEASBY
We really enjoyed our stay at Crotchet Barn. It’s a clean, open and welcoming space that was really comfortable to be in. The sun room and garden are highlights, and the bed was really comfy! Jo was easy to communicate with and we were really grateful for the extra touches she and Andy added to our stay.

5 STARS! GEMMA, RICH AND RYAN WILSON
Oh what a wonderful stay we had! This beautiful cottage is everything you’d want and more. The hosts are so welcoming and the little touches they did, made us feel very welcome. Spotlessly clean, a home away from home. We didn’t want to leave! To anyone wanting a peaceful break away, this is the place for you.

5 STARS! DAN MILLER
Lovely place to stay, the cottage has lots of character. Was amazing to see the stars at night due to the rural location (no light pollution). Hosts left fresh fruit and veg, which was a lovely gesture. The bed is huge and there are hard, soft and medium pillows to pick from. A good sized t.v, lots of appliances and lovely garden space. Many thanks for the lovely get away 🙂

The sheer ambience and tranquility at Crotchet Barn is absolutely beautiful. The owners Jo and Andy are such kind people and are happy to chat, offer help and advice, or leave you to enjoy the retreat they offer. Nestled in the heart of rural Somerset, if you are looking for a getaway from the humdrum and demands of modern life, this is the perfect place to come too.

5 STARS! ROSIE SKINNER
The kindest most thoughtful hosts, the most perfect location and a beautiful home away from home. I was there for 2 weeks seeking some peace and tranquility and that’s exactly what I got. Thank you for everything! Xxx

5 STARS! JENNY MCHALE
We really enjoyed our stay here. It’s a great base location for Somerset and North Devon. The kitchen is really well equipped making it easy to make meals. Great hosts who provided some nice touches upon arrival and kindly did a last minute request for us when they didn’t have to. Also really appreciated they provided recycling facilities including food waste. I often have to take items home so it’s great to see hosts who are taking additional steps to help the environment.

5 STARS! KARYN BRIGHT Fantastic cottage, warm and cosy; it offered a lovely pause in between our busy family Christmas celebrations!

5 STARS! TERESA THOMAS Beautiful place to stay in the heart of the Somerset Levels. Clean and tidy and has everything we needed. We will come back.

5 STARS! EMMA STOREY We had a great stay in the property. We especially liked the dog friendly set up like having dog towels, spare bowls, treats, poo bags, a hose and a little room to get them all clean before they head indoors – very helpful in winter!

5 STARS! LOUISE SPENCER Cannot recommend this place highly enough if you want comfort, cosiness and relaxation! The bed was absolutely massive and so comfortable. Accommodation is well equipped and its close enough for lovely countryside walks before vegging out in front of the fire for pure R&R. the night sky was just the icing on the cake.

5 STARS! KENDAL SWANEPOEL Perfect getaway for myself, partner and dog 🙂 The cottage was much bigger than expected with your own private garden. We really enjoyed our weekend and will definitely be back.

5 STARS! ED BOYLE A quiet and peaceful home from home run with thoughtfulness and care. Your Somerset getaway begins here!

5 STARS! MONIQUE GREEN We had a great stay – the place is perfect, furnished to a very high standard, and has everything you need for a relaxing stay. The private garden is a really nice touch as is the summerhouse and sunroom. Location wise, there are some lovely walks nearby – we really enjoyed the Willows and Wetlands Centre. Supermarkets are a short distance in the car and there’s a local village shop a short walk away. Lots of National Trust attractions not far away as well. The hosts were really lovely and kindly showed us around their far/ forest garden; their passion and vision is really inspiring – so if you get a chance ask for a tour! Overall one of our best AirBnB stays to date.

5 STARS! TIM BULLARD Great communication throughout. Clean, tidy, everything you’d want really!

5 STARS! ASHLEY HOLYOAK Jo, and her husband Andy, are such lovely people, the thoughtfulness they showed towards us was wonderful. Our girls both had small gifts waiting for them on arrival and it was obvious that they really cared about our stay. We had a large bowl of fresh produce from their garden (no mean feat in February!) and they also gave us a tour of the grounds and gardens which showed the hard work they are putting into the forest and food gardens. The Crotchet Barn is such a nice place to spend time, we made use of the log burner during a day under house arrest from ‘Storm Eunice’ and found plenty to do from watching rabbits and birds from the dinning area window to playing games, reading and even watched some telly. The welcome pack which has lots of info about places to eat, local walks, local towns and attractions and shopping – is a very well put together package, anything else we wanted to know we asked Jo who was helpful and knowledgeable. The kitchen is incredibly well equipped having everything we needed to prepare meals from scratch, and included a dish washer and washing machine as well as the usual fridge and cooker too. The bedroom has a massive luxury bed and choices of firm or soft pillows. Loads of storage and coat hangers, lamps on each side of the bed, it’s really well thought-out space. The electric heaters worked so well throughout the barn that on the first night we put on the electric blankets and were too hot! The bathroom has loads of towels and a large walk-in type shower with an electric shower, which did the job. Out through the patio doors there is a sun room off the main living area – great for drying of dogs with the towels that are provided for pets in there. Further outside is a hose for cleaning pets, a fairly private garden area with a summer house and willow tree, ideal for our kids and dog to run around in. I would absolutely recommend The Crotchet Barn as a great place to stay. And would like to return in the future, perhaps when it less likely to be storm season, and see how the growing is coming along. Nice to have hosts that obviously really care about their guests and it shows in the way the accommodation is set up.

4 STARS! KYRIE BURGOINE We had an absolutely lovely stay in the cottage, the garden and surrounding countryside and village are pure bliss. The dog had a great time too!

5 STARS! SCOOBY GILL Why is there only a rating that goes up to “great”? Why can’t there be an amazing, more than amazing, and we will definitely come back? Everything, including the hosts Jo and Andy, was more than amazing. It is so rare to stay somewhere and feel that not only was it an amazing place, but you feel you have made new friends too. Everything was so well thought out. It was warm, cosy, quiet and so comfortable and the whole vegan vibe for us vegan oldies was amazing.

ALI, DANNY AND JUDE CARTER (and Ego the dog!) Many thanks for letting us stay. We’ve enjoyed the few days and loved the cottage. Great location – we have been to lots of lovely places. Good luck with the business and the self sufficiency plan. Hope to visit again some day. We had a lovely stay. The Barn is very comfortable and have really enjoyed exploring. Thanks for the greens, much appreciated.

ROBERT AND TRACY SAVAGE-GREEN Thanks for a lovely stay. very much appreciated the garden veg and treats for Lucy as well as such a cosy little cottage with all the necessary facilities and more.

5 STARS! REBECCA JIGGLES Fantastic stay here, very peaceful and in a lovely area. Overall very clean and tidy. Just what we wanted.

5 STARS! SAMANTHA GALE Crotchet Barn was the ideal getaway! My dog Kirby and I had a wonderful time. The bed was comfortable, the kitchen well equipped and the area amazing, but the real gem of this property is the garden. It’s the best one of any property we’ve stayed in, and we spent as much time out there as possible. We’ll definitely be back 🙂

5 STARS! KARL ROWLEY Cosy and well-appointed. Truly rural feel but less than half an hour into Taunton and great for exploring the Levels. Everything you could need in the barn, and a lovely garden. The owners are excellent hosts – really helpful if you need it but otherwise leave you to it. Pretty much perfect, I’d say.

5 STARS! SAKANA AHILAN This accommodation is ideal for anyone looking for a nice getaway! Great host and a beautiful place. Shops are slightly further out. There are neighbours opposite.

5 STARS! HANNAH JONES Nice cosy cottage in a peaceful location. Easy check in and cottage was clean and had everything we needed for our short stay. Comfy bed and a choice of pillows too and sofa bed was comfy as well. Nice outdoor seating area to make the most of the sunshine. Easy drive to several places to visit including Burrow Mump and the rspb areas. Plenty of information in the folder provided including local walks.

5 STARS! LAURA TRAILL Perfect place to get that rural Somerset experience. We had a lovely stay for the Somerset Steam and Country Show. Clean and well furnished, easy to park right outside. Great little touches like children’s games, dog treats and eco friendly products.

5 STARS! LISA AND PAUL MILLARD Beautiful place! The hosts are wonderful they were kind enough to show us around their beautiful garden! A lovely location for walks and the property is immaculate and stunning. A lovely quiet location we would definitely recommend!

5 STARS! OLIVER DIXON We had a great stay at Crotchet Barn which is a beautiful, calm little house with an attractive garden and views across a field with friendly sheep and even hares. It’s a great base for exploring Somerset, we visited Taunton, Glastonbury and Wookey Hole Caves, as well as the Quantock Hills, the Blackdown Hills and the North Somerset coast. Jo and Andy are great hosts who are on hand to help but are happy to leave you to yourself.

5 STARS! NIC SAUNDERS Awesome from start to finish. Great location, ideal for Glastonbury. Beautiful place, lovely garden, very zen. Good communication and the owners are passionate vegans, but let us have diary for our 3 year old, so we really appreciated that. Nothing to fault – we’d stay again.

5 STARS! HOLLY PULLINGER
Communication was amazing! before during and after our stay, we felt so welcome. On arrival the barn was immaculate and such a little gem to discover as we went through all the way to the garden. Sleeping arrangements were perfect, not a single sound to be heard – so peaceful. Breakfast with the bunnies in the morning was just delightful. Cosy garden which had lots of little areas to explore and enjoy. A genuine home from home with all the added extras. I brought a fan with me thinking there wouldn’t be one but of course there was! Everything seemed to have been thought of. We stayed over our wedding and felt so accomadated for from bridal prep and wedding cars arriving to the sweet honeymoon type touches Jo put out for us to return home to. Couldn’t have been more happy with our stay, we haven’t relaxed like we did in a very long time! And whats more we didn’t have to struggle to maintain our vegan morals. Love love love!

5 STARS! ISABEL SIMPSON A beautiful location surrounded by fields with a nice private garden and decking area to do some yoga. The property was very clean and tidy upon arrival with lovely, homely decor. The sweet gestures of the home-grown berries from the garden were a lovely touch! A very informative welcome pack was waiting for us with lots of recommendations of local walks, restaurants that catered well for vegans and other attractions in the area. A good selection of games to be played in the evenings! Although we didn’t actually meet Joanna and her partner, we are very grateful for their kindness shown through the small but meaningful gestures! The only thing that we found an issue was the Wi-Fi as it appeared quite slow at times but nothing that would stop us from returning again! Many thanks Joanna, hope to meet you next time!

5 STARS! HELEN WARREN What a wonderful, restful, idyllic rural break. Lots of lovely touches to make the stay as nice as could be. Beautiful outdoor spaces alongside lovely indoor decor and comfort. Highly recommended – we will definitely be returning at some point in the future.

5 STARS! TAMAR SAPHRA A beautiful place to stay for a local wedding – Joanna was super easy to communicate with, and the flat was clean and comfortable with lovely views out onto the surrounding fields. Wish we’d been able to stay longer!
