Do you have to be vegan to stay at Crotchet Barn?
No, you don’t! We welcome everyone to stay although we do request that whilst you are at the property you do not consume any animal products including meat, dairy, eggs and fish.
Why a vegan cottage?
We are both vegan- for the animals but also for our health. Both vegetarians since teenagers, we discovered plant-based nutrition through watching “Forks Over Knives” when Andy was recovering from surgery. This opened our eyes to the health benefits of plant-based eating, but as we explored more, we found out about the atrocities that occur daily to innocent animals so that humans can have meat and dairy- and we no longer wanted to be part of this cruel system. Veganism is part of our whole life now, hence why Crotchet Barn is also vegan.
We wanted our business and holiday cottage to stay true to our ethics and ultimately provide a space for fellow vegans to relax in and enjoy, knowing that no animals were harmed in the creation of the space, no meat has been cooked in the oven and no cheese has been in the fridge!
We also hoped it would create a great way for us to meet other vegans and have fun.
So if you are vegan, or don’t mind eating a plant based diet during your stay, and you fancy exploring the beautiful county of Somerset, then Crotchet barn is the perfect place for you!
